Drupal Agency

Your Drupal Agency

Our Drupal agency specialises in Drupal 8. Drupal 8 is PHP based and uses Symfony and Object Oriented Programming (OOP). This means that Drupal is accessible to a wide range of programmers. Both technology providers and end users find it very useful as it’s based on an open source Content Management System (CMS). If you’re already using an older version of Drupal, we’ll migrate your project to Drupal 8.

What are the benefits of Drupal?

We specialise in Drupal development as it’s a very powerful Open Source Content Management system (CMS). We use it to create both simple and complex solutions for Desktop and mobile devices. Unlike other CMS systems, Drupal was programmed by developers for developers. As a Drupal agency, we’re the link between our internal developers and the requirements of our customers.

A Drupal CMS offers excellent functionality, flexibility, user-friendliness and security. Security is of particular importance: Drupal ensures security at company level and you can generate detailed security reports. Some government departments use Drupal, including the U.S Whitehouse website (whitehouse.gov).

To avoid security loopholes Drupal advises that anyone using versions 6 and 7 upgrades to the current Drupal 8 version as quickly as possible. Find out more about Drupal by reading our blog post on the subject.

Why do our customers like Drupal?

Our customers like Drupal just as much as we do because it’s exceptionally user-friendly. It’s easy for customers to add or change their own web content such as texts, images, videos or products for online shops. So, if you only need to make small changes to your website, you don’t need to contact your web developer to do so. We set up Drupal web pages so that our customers have a powerful and versatile editing tool. You don’t need any programming skills to use it. This saves time, effort and, of course, reduces costs.

Also, with a Drupal website, there are no software licences to buy and our customers aren't tied to any web agency. So, if for any reason you aren’t happy with us (and we really hope this will never be the case), you can switch to using a different company at any time without charge and allow experienced Drupal developers to manage your site. This is a big advantage compared to other systems where customers are tied in or dependent on one developer company. As Drupal is an open-source CMS and based on the widely-used PHP programming language, it’s very easy for new developers to get to grips with.

How Drupal Works

The Drupal CMS is made up of different modules that combine in various ways to create individual web and IT systems, delivering tailor-made solutions to our customers.

Drupal modules are constantly being developed and improved by the Drupal community. So, for example, one or more Drupal developers will develop a new module and release it for the benefit of the open source Drupal community. It’s easy to integrate individual Drupal modules into existing Drupal systems. Drupal modules can include taxonomies, content types, blocks, views and much more. A developer needs to install and update these modules and can also customize or develop them further.

Another major benefit of Drupal is its high security and easy maintenance: each module is managed by a developer and some community members. This ensures that modules always up-to-date with web security standards and any errors are rooted out and corrected. Every Drupal page has nominated administrators and editors. This means individual access can be granted or denied. For example, this would apply to private or sensitive content or for any other specific reason.

Drupal 8

We use the latest version of Drupal, which is Drupal 8. This is the most powerful Drupal version so far. It’s based on the Symfony PHP developer framework, which is built on Object Oriented Programming (OOP).

The combination of Symfony and OOP means that Drupal is accessible to a wide range of programmers. As a CMS technology system, Drupal 8 is ideal for technology providers and agencies like B-works. It’s also ideal for customers who are the end users of a website or mobile application. Drupal 8 is now easier for non-specialist web developers to use (e.g. site builders and content authors).
